In Denmark can children last name different than their father?
In the 1800's in Denmark is it common to give children a last name that is different than the last name of their birth father?

Thank you so much for your prompt and thorough response!! The above link about patronymics took the mystery out of why Denmark surnames were so difficult to understand in the early to mis 1800's.
