Virginia death records - cause of death INFANTICIDE -- US, Virginia—Death Records, 1853–1900[M37R-T5
I am indexing a batch which has at least a dozen records with death date for unknown name infants with age listed as "a few minutes". Should I list birth date as same day as death date, much as we would a stillborn?
It appears to me they were babies found abandoned around the city. Very sad!

Since the Birth Day is not recorded on these forms, you mark those fields blank per the field help instruction: If the day was not recorded or was written as a variation of the word "unknown," press Ctrl+B to mark this field blank.
It makes sense to do this, not only because the birth date is not listed, but because these are all cases of infanticide. The coroner can only know that the baby lived a few minutes, but, they would not know what day the baby was murdered. Thus, they have no known birthdate.

I tried to open your batch, but got an error message saying "Access Restricted". I think you left off part of the share batch code. It's generally 7 digits.

Thanks for your help. I have changed the records to reflect that.
