'Yes' I was thinking ...
IF, you were NOT an (Aussie) "Olympian", returning from the "Olympics", in Japan; THEN, the ONLY other thing, maybe, that the 'Time' Zone was out.
I have done such before, myself - easy done.
Good to 'hear', you got it worked out.

Turns out our VPN provider (well known sec company) had an outage and routed us via Japan for a couple of days 🙄. Thanks for the tips to check though .

When I type in family search the computer automatically goes to my account. I can't seem to figure out how to get out of it and go to my wife's account.....

Hm ...
It certainly was, something "Technical", that was totally, unforeseen; and, out of your control.
Like you, I would certainly have been, confused; and, concerned.
It was worth raising the matter, here; as, others, may have experienced the same - you never know.
At least, you now know what was going on.

FYI
Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.
I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
It is a simple matter that you NEED to "Sign Out" of your 'FamilySearch' Account.
BEFORE, another User/Patron, can sign into, their 'FamilySearch' Account, on that Computer.
Just go to your "Display Name" in the TOP 'right-hand-corner' of ANY page/screen.
Select your "Display Name", then, go down to the bottom of the resulting "List"; and, select, "Sign Out".
That will sign you out of 'FamilySearch' altogether; and, thus, allow, another User/Patron, to sign in, with their 'FamilySearch' Account, on that Computer.
As an aside ...
Are you aware, that there is a way, that, in fact, you DO NOT need to "Sign Out"?
It is simply a matter of "Opening" ANOTHER "Browser"; and, having the OTHER User/Patron sign into their 'FamilySearch' Account, using that OTHER "Browser".
That way, you can STILL have your 'FamilySearch' Account open and working; as well as, having the OTHER User's/Patron's 'FamilySearch' Account open and working - ie. BOTH at the SAMe time.
I do such all the time - it works.
I hope this helps.
