#7 Dorothy M Wagner, #8 Regina W Wagner be assigned book #1706 or #1683 with the corresponding pg numbers? It looks like the clerk erased the half of the bracket to include these names.

The indexer included them with #1683. What do you think?

Thank you for your question regarding this batch. Since the clerk has dittoed the grantee and new book, we are going to index the page number for each of those entries as though there has been a ditto. Thank you for your dedication.

I think that Dorothy and Regina belong in book #1706 rather than #1683 because of the deliberate erasure of the top part of the bracket and the fact that the next transaction (for book #1683) starts right at William J (i.e. after Regina). The ditto marks on the Wagner Surname continue to and through the transaction after book #1683 (the one for book #1719). So I'm not persuaded by them to lump Dorothy and Regina with book # 1683. I'm more persuaded by the erasure of the top part of the bracket, which nullifies the connection of Dorothy and Regina to book #1683.
