Merging individuals linked to a "read-only" record.

My father is the grandson of Apostle John Henry Smith. Because of this, the record for his father, Glenn Groesbeck Smith, has been marked as read-only. I sort of understand that, but now my father and his brother have duplicate records that we cannot combine because they are linked to someone with a read-only record. Is there ANY way someone can link the two current records for my dad and his brother?

Lawrence Don Smith, KWZ1-76B, duplicate LXTQ-SNX

Ralph Jay Smith, LJ9C-ZKJ, duplicate LNLS-TJG

Thank you for any help you can give to resolve these duplicates for our family.
