Bad ID

My (Bradford Mann Smith) ID is "LT96-MQ]" It doesn't work to change my parental relationship. Has something gone wrong in assigning me an ID number? Can "]" be a character in an ID number?

Thank you,

    Hello @BradSmith7

The "]" is the issue. That character is not used in ID numbers.

ID Numbers only contain letters and numbers.

You must have written the ID down incorrectly. I would guess that the ID would be LT96-MQJ.

    All the best.

This is a cut and paste of what I was looking at:

It sure looked like a right bracket to these 80-year-old eyes, but you're certainly correct; my ID is LT96-MQJ

Thank you for your help, Kerrelbee.

We are not sure if you understood how an ID number is formatted. Please see the below link:

    Marvin,

I replied and posted to your good reply, but it doesn't show here. Still much to learn about FamilySearch.
