How can someone, I don't know who, put in a father and mother to my ancestor (John Porter)?

No one in my family has found a birth certificate for John.

How can I disconnect theses parents?

I want proof that they are John's parents.

I have everything from his marriage to Eunice Sargent in 1807 till now.

We've search everywhere we can think of, and still nothing.

Take these parents off, pleased.

Thanks, Enid

Keep in mind this is a collaborative database - where we all work together on the family tree

not everyone will have the same approach as you as to "waiting for solid proof" before entering a specific connection.

as far as taking anything off - you can edit any facts and relationships as you feel needed.

this is a great video to watch explaining the collaborative nature of FamilySearch
