i am indexing and i have a cencus record that states that the head of household is maried monoganusly but then when you look at the other people in the house hold there are 2 that say their relationship to head of house hold is spouse also the second of the 2 claims under martial status to be never maired wich i know is not true becuse they just said in there relationship to head of household that they were a spouse is there any way i can report this recod as contridictory or somthing

for reference in the image under the relationship to head of houshold catagory 1 = head, 2 = spouse, 3 = son or daughter, and 9 = other reletive. in the marital status catagory 1 = never maried, and 2 = maried monoganusly.

Here's my advice: Just type what you see. The researchers get to interpret the details, once our index brings them to the original image.

Our task is to create an index of exactly what is on the record, errors and all, unless the project directions tell us something different. For example, sometimes the project instructions will tell us to correct the spelling of a place name. They never tell us to correct given or surnames or to interpret the data.

Also, we aren't supposed to share screen shots of the images. The best thing to do is to share the batch. If you click on the third icon from the right, it will provide the link and the batch code.
