He has the same name as a younger sibling who has two middle names and was born five years before before the listed mother. I have tried to find a second marriage without any success.
Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.
I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
You indicate that the Ancestor has the "... has the same name as a younger sibling who has two middle names and was born five years before before the listed mother ..."
Did the younger Sibling with the same (obviously, First 'Given'/'Christian' Name) DIE; before, the Birth of the Ancestor?
When you 'say' "...before the listed mother ...", what exactly do you mean?
Thanks for responding ! The two brothers died in the same year. When I say listed mother I mean the mother of the younger of the two. She could be the mother of both but she did not marry their father until five years after the first William was born.
Question: What 'Locality' (ie, Place, County/Shire, State, Country); and, what 'Time Period'.?
I am looking for documentation on the birth of William Chase 1778 - 1867 • L7NX - 6LB
New Hampton,Belknap,New Hampshire, United States
Now that we have a 'Place' and 'Date' ...
Just a thought ...
If you were not already aware ...
There are 'Groups' in this "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, that include "New Hampshire" in the USA.
Perhaps, you may consider "Joining" those 'Groups', becoming a member; and, then, asking for (suggested research) help/assistance.
The members of those groups are only to will to provide, help/assist, where they can.
You could get lucky.
Here are a couple of those 'Groups':
The good old, 'standby' ...
Many of the 'Groups', have been a little quite, of late, with the recent "Move", to the NEW Platform, of this "Community.FamilySearch" Forum - it has been a SIGNIFICANT "Change".
Hopefully, many of the 'Groups' will pick-up again, as time goes on.
I hope this helps, somewhat.

If you're struggling with your genealogy research, FamilySearch offers several options for getting help.
Many other organizations also offer help. Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness (RAOGK), for example, is a global volunteer organization where you can make requests for help with research tasks.
