I don't think I can continue using family search.

Unless you can assist me. I have multiple records for my great x 10 grandmothers Catherine Pillat LY6D-YSC. She has basically been hijacked and all her information replaced with a different person; Ouenta Du plat. Instead of creating a new person, she has absorbed the Catherine Pillet from France in 1663 to a native american, with a modern photo dressed woman in native robes and now I cant even add her parents as they are all added with other details. Why didn't she just add a new person with the name Ouenta (Catherine)Du plat as she even states is her name?

I don't want a fight but this is not working.

Her parents are Marie Marguerite Moulinet / Moulin

    B:1621 Cogné, Eure-et-Loir, Centre, France

D:1665 La Rochelle, Manche, Basse-Normandie, France

    and

    Pierre Pilliar (Pilet-Pillard)

    B:02 Nov 1619 Rennes, Ille-et-Vilaine, Bretagne, France

D:19 October 1665 Plumaugat, Dinan, Cotes-d'Armor, Bretagne, France

They are not natives and not even in the USA.. So what can I do?

Right now, LY6D-YSC has two pairs of parents, both with other children: one pair in America, the other in France. The LY6D-YSC Change Log shows LY6D-YSC has been for many years a conflation of a First Nation woman and a French woman. It is good that you are fixing this.

      1. Detach LY6D-YSC from the parents in France.
      2. Then, make a new PID for your Catherine, as a child of the parents in France.
      3. You mention multiple records for your Catherine. Multiple historical records? Are any attached to LY6D-YSC? Detach them from LY6D-YSC and attach them to the new PID.

You are in the Tree view. Switch to the Person view. There is a row of tabs at the top of the page: Overview Tree Person Recents . . . Click on Person.

That button removes only the parent-child relationships. The page will remain the same.

Any information on LY6D-YSC that properly belongs to your Catherine you can copy-paste into the new page and then delete from LY6D-YSC. Once you detach the attached sources from LY6D-YSC, the FT hints system should offer them on your Catherine's new page. If not, you go through the Sources on your Catherine's parents, husband(s) and children, looking for Unfinished Attachments. Some of those will want to attach to your Catherine.

It feels scary, so remember that on FT nothing is gone when you delete it. It is all in the Change Logs.

Hola Carms66 ve si esto puede ayudarte.

      Article Id: 7877

Correct parent-child relationships in Family Tree • FamilySearch

      https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/como-corrijo-los-parentescos-de-padre-hijo-en-arbol-familiar
When a child in Family Tree is connected to the wrong mother or father, correct the parent-child relationships.

      https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-see-what-changes-have-been-made-about-a-person-in-family-tree

      https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/a-person-in-family-tree-has-the-wrong-spouse

      https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-correct-parent-child-relationships-in-family-tree

      Buena Suerte.

@Carms66 I see you detached LY6D-YSC from her parents in colonial America. That is not the correct choice. LY6D-YSC has many years of collaboration notes concerning the woman in colonial America. So, please re-attach LY6D-YSC to those parents and detach LY6D-YSC from the parents in France.

Would you like me to do it? I have some time right now.

I am not sure, you mean to put her back to first Nation Heritage? She is from France and I tried to only give her back the french heritage that goes with her and me. Not the First Nation.

Yes, put LY6D-YSC back. The page LY6D-YSC belongs to a First Nation woman. Your person of the same name needs a separate page of her own.

LY6D-YSC has been the First Nation woman for years.

Why do you care what PID your Catherine Pillet has? Is the PID published somewhere?
