I can't edit a record with blatant false-information in it
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QP3Q-HK6X claims that the person died on May 25 1878 which is just wrong.
The image clearly states that he died on June 13 1955, the person making the record probably didn't properly read through the image and therefore mistook the birthdate as his date of death...
It is frustrating to find records that have incorrect information. The person or the computer that indexed these may indeed not have read through the image, but, they captured enough data that you could find the person through a search. Long ago I learned not to let perfection be the enemy of good. It is good that we can find our ancestors through the search engine, read the images, and gather the correct information. Hopefully, someday in the future, the FamilySearch program will be able to allow us to correct all the errors that we find and perfect the indexes. But, for today, that can't happen.3
