How do I seperate two different people who show as one person
James Crook LH5T-R9K born Exford Somerset, England and died in Gloucestershire
shows in my tree as the same person as James Crook born Monks Risborough, Buckinghamshire, England with the same reference
I have undone the merger which appears to have created this situation but it still gives both families on my tree as if James Crook remarried after the death of his wife. For those not familiar with English geography the two places are a significant distance apart and the evidence is that the two families are completely separate entities. e.g The marriage in Monks Risborough occurred before the death of the wife (Elizabeth Holliday)

Yes, this looks to be a matter of multiple people merged into one. You've taken the first step of identifying at least two James Crooks, but I don't see where you "unmerged." I do see that you added a note about the two different James Crooks.
Your next step might be to look at all of the merges that have taken place. You can do this by going to Latest Changes and filtering by merges. There are 15 merges.
Another step to take would be to look at each of the children and sort out which ones belong to James Crook and Elizabeth Holiday. There is an old family group sheet attached as a document that you could perhaps use as a guide.
You may very well have to create a "new" James Crook and a "new" Elizabeth King and then remove the children that belong to them from James Crook and Elizabeth Holiday and connect them to the correct parents. You will also have to detach all of the sources that apply to the other couple. You will want to move these sources to the "new" records.
Besides children being born in Bisley, Gloucestershire and Exford, Somerset, there are children born in Lancashire, too.
Untangling these intertwined families is going to be a challenge, admittedly. Here is a link to a knowledge article that will give you guidance:

James Crook LH5T-R9K, born Exford Somerset, definitely needs to be detached from these parents. You need to click on the pencil icon by his name (beneath the currently shown parents) and either Remove the parents or Replace them - the latter, if you establish who his actual parents were.
Things are not so straightforward here, however, as some of the children listed under this James need to be removed from him (and his wife) and probably attached to the "other" James Crook - K8CV-B6P. As you will see, some of the children were of Exford, but others of Bisley. Still others do not relate to either James, so need to be detached, too.
You also need to clear those red, data warnings, along with making other corrections, no doubt. I did not have time to check out these two CROOK branches in more detail, but anticipate you might have a bit of careful work to perform here, before everything is in order.
Hopefully another user will be able to post some links to "Help" articles relevant to the processes required.

It appears you have restored James Crook after an incorrect merge.
To help resolve this situation, you would need to carefully check all the relationships for James Crook (LH5T-R9K). Any incorrect children you can detach from the incorrect parents using the pencil edit icon alongside the child's name, click on the child's name in the pop out box to remove both parents from the child. Alternatively, if only one parent is wrong then click remove by that parents name.
Next, check the relationship of the children with James Crook (LH5T-R9K) and Elizabeth King (LHTH-7LM). If these children do not belong to James (LH5-R9K) then you can detach each one in turn. Elizabeth King (LHTH-7LM) you say is the wrong spouse, if this is so, then you can detach her from James by clicking the deit Icon between the relationship and remove her from James Crook.
