We understand that you would like to transfer your Ancestry pedigree into Family Tree.
- Family Tree is a little different from other similar sites in that it is a single tree linked together in families, rather than a site that allows users to create and manage their own private trees. This difference means that everyone works together on the same data, allowing for the potential to connect every member of the human family.
Also the chance for duplication because we have common ancestors is significant. Therefore we do not allow direct uploading to our Family Tree.
However, you can upload a GEDCOM file into our Genealogies file and then compare that file to Family Tree.
Go to Ancestry Help and follow the instructions for Downloading your tree from Ancestry in the GEDCOM format.
Once you have that GEDCOM file and are ready to upload the GEDCOM please follow the instructions in https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-upload-information-to-family-tree
Once it is up loaded to Genealogies and you are ready to compare your tree to our Family Tree then follow the instructions in https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-copy-information-from-my-gedcom-file-into-family-tree
If you need assistance in performing this task then go to Help and lick on Contact Us for our phone number and hours of operation and give us a call.

- Click Save.
- Click Continue.
- Click Go to Tree.
Step 2. Transfer information from Family Tree
- On the menu bar at the top of the Ancestry page, click Trees.
