line 1 : Momo Kuiwe  Place of birth [55] the number 55 is not in the drop down list. When I enter it from the keyboard the program rejects is and the place of birth becomes a blank

    The field helps say

Select the numeric code and corresponding value from the drop-down list. If the numeric code cannot be found in the drop-down list, type the code as it was written, including any preceding zeros.

If a numeric code was not recorded, press Ctrl+B to mark this field blank.

This sounds as if they want it to be blank.
