Read only?
What happened my tree seems to be all “read only”. Will it be fixed? Help!?!?

Mine just changed to "Read Only" as well

The same thing happened to me. It was working fine an hour ago, but now everything is read-only, including my own record.

Same. Was working and then everything is marked as read only? Hopefully it gets fixed soon

Can someone answer how does a person get the label of 'read only'? One of my ancestors has this label.

FYI
The "Ready Only" status, is ONLY applied, to an individual/person, by 'FamilySearch' (ie. Data Administration).
As far as I was aware, the "Ready Only" status is (generally) applied to "Deceased" individuals/persons where they are some of importance/note.
[ eg, The Prophet of the Church, "Joseph SMITH" ... ]
The reason being that, for those of importance/note, there can be COUNTLESS descendants, MANY of whom are making "Changes" to those individuals/persons; and, there needs to be some 'Control' of the "Changes" for such individuals/persons. Generally, 'FamilySearch' makes the necessary "Changes" to those individuals/person, on behalf of their descendants.
IF, you want some work, done on a "Ready Only" individual/person, who you ARE related to; THEN, you can request that be done by 'FamilySearch' through 'FamilySearch' "Support".
