How do I link my FamilySearch account to Ancestry?

When I try to link my FamilySearch account to Ancestry, I get an Ancestry screen asking me to create a paying account. How do I get the free account I should qualify for?

My husband and I called Ancestry customer support today. They said they had fixed my problem, but when I returned to FamilySearch and tried to link the accounts, it didn't work.

Ruth,

There could be several reasons you are having this problem. You could click on the Help question mark and go to the Help Center and search Ancestry. There are several articles that address problems like you are having. This one in particular is good, and there are links to other articles at the bottom of this one. If you cannot resolve the problem on your own with the help of the information in the articles, you will need to call us at 866-406-1830.

For some reason, we are getting an error message when we try to attach the article. Just search for "Ancestry does not recognize by Church member account."

How do I link My Familysearch tree with Ancestry. I spoke to Ancestry and they said Familysearch has to link the trees and there is no need for me to pay my subscription to Ancestry. Elizabeth
