does the "Delete Person Unavailable" appear when there are other people sharing your ancestor on their tree? I believe the person im trying to delete is not related to my tree. Ive spoken to one of the other contributors that shares this person and they are happy to have it changed but i havent spoken to the other contributor. Surely there must be some way of deleting wrong information.

    Thanks

    Jackie

    Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

Short Answer: 'Yes', you are CORRECT.

The "Delete Person" feature/function/facility, is ONLY available, if YOU are the ONLY contributor (ie. User/Patron), that:

    (1) "Created"; and,

    (2) has worked on,

    that individual/person.

IF, ANY Other contributor (ie. User/Patron, including that of the "Contact Name" of 'FamilySearch') has worked on a "Deceased" individual/person, in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'; THEN, that "Delete Person" feature/function/facility, is NO LONGER available; and, is REPLACED by, that "Delete Person Unavailable" feature/function/facility.

    As Such ...

    Basically ...

You DO NOT "Delete" such an individual/person from "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.

You SIMPLY "Detach", such an individual/Person, from the INCORRECT "Relationship" (ie. "Couple"; and/or, "Parent-Child"), to which it has been associated.

    For starters ...

Here are some "Knowledge Articles" in 'FamilySearch':

    Couple Relationship

A person in Family Tree has the wrong spouse

    Parent-Child Relationship

How do I correct parent-child relationships in Family Tree?

    I hope this helps.
