Can someone fix an Index error?
Hi Maybe I could do it myself but dont have the confidence or knowhow.
I was researching John McClish and came up with this
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XHLJ-HMR
Looking at the document 1820 census here
John McClish is on the index at the bottom But looking through he is not on the document.
He is on the next "page"
which is here
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33SQ-GYBZ-C7S?i=5&cc=1803955
The Index under the two documents appears to have been transposed though I have not checked all the names.
Hopefully The links are correct and you can see what I am talking about.
Thanks

In looking at these records reported above, page 191 is attached to page 193 and page 193 is attached to the records on page 191. The patron says

Thank you . The solution flagged above suggests a note may (can?)be added to the record to advise the searcher to look at ajacent images - can that not be done retrospectively. Whilst I did find my data I would have probably given up before I got to five pages each side.

We understand from your recent comments that you discovered that the image that is connected to a specific indexed record does not take you to the information in the index. We are aware that sometimes the indexed details don't appear to match the image that shows with the indexed record as explained in the following knowledge article, however, you can usually find the correct image within up to five images when you go to the film. An item is not really considered mismatched if the image is within two or three images as explained in the article.
We appreciate you bringing this concern to our attention and we are grateful that you did find the correct corresponding image which was very close by. At the present time we don't have a process for correcting this concern, but you can still use indexed records and simply provide the correct URL for the image that is represented in the index as you attach the source. We hope this article and instruction is helpful.
