Issue with creating new PIDs
Yesterday, I tried to add a child to a couple, including DOB and DOD and got a message that the process failed. I tried several more times, not realizing the system was indeed creating new PIDs for the child with every attempt I made, but not connecting all 7 of the newly created PIDs to her parents. I found that out when I was finally able to add her without dates! But upon adding the dates to her PID that was connected to her parents, all the duplicates showed up.
Today, I am unable to add an additional a spouse while attaching an obituary. The system won't open up "none of the above" to add an additional spouse for the deceased. And she is not showing in My Contributions.
I did a "work-around" by adding the wife in another tab, then jockeying around with the change buttons on the tab I was attaching the source, but something is not functioning as it should.
I've deleted cookies, hoping that would remedy the situation, if it was on my end, to no avail. Is this a known issue?

Hi Christina Sachs Wagner,
Thank you for your question. We are sorry for your frustration. Since the different individuals showed up, do you know how to merge those records? You will want to merge them by ID number. The link below will explain how.
https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-merge-duplicates-in-family-tree-by-id
You may wish to do to the Latest Changes box, on the Details page of one of the parents. The link below explains about using the latest changes.
Another thought. have you tried to check to see if your browser is up to date? The link below gives you information about the different browsers.

If you still need help with this issue, please give us the ID numbers of the parents, so we can investigate and hopefully help resolve your concerns.
Hopefully this information is useful.
We are here to help.

It sounds like the system was having a serious hiccup while you were trying to work. Sometimes (though not always), when FS starts throwing error messages, all you can do is close it, wait a while, and then try again. (People will tell you to clear your cache and update your browser and all that nonsense, but I really think that the only reason that ever helps is that it takes a little bit of time.)

Sanra, none of those were issues for me. I was able to delete the duplicates created and I learned my lesson form that to not keep clicking the button to create new people, without checking My Contributions,
Julia, you might be right! That's why I didn't post the issue until today, when it was (still) happening in a similar manner.

Hey ... long time ,,, no speak ...
'Yes' ...
I have experienced such; but, very occasionally ...
Usually, after, I find out that, there was, either, a minor problem/issue with the "System" (eg. a particular "Server"); or, an "In-Line" Up-Date/Release (not that 'Weekly' one) going through.
And, you do not realise that those EXTRA individuals/persons (ie. "Duplicates") are being created.
There is NOT always any, immediate, rhyme or reason.
Whereas ...
As it is still happening ...
Just in passing ...
What about the currency of the versions of your, "Operating System"; and, "Brower".
Hey, I just threw this in, just in case.
Just my thoughts.

Brett, when support changed to the new platform, I got lost along the way and then distracted. ;-)

Didn't we all ...
And, many, I should say, most, of us, still are ... 'weathering the storm'
Brett
ps: I got a little 'battered and bruised'; and, even, 'persona non grata', along the way.

It's been a rough change for me. The new platform is overwhelming!
