iPad Pro auto logs out when I try to index; tried 3 diff browsers
iPad Pro (4th gen) used to work great for indexing but for the last few months Indexing has stopped working. At first it was only certain projects. Now it’s any project.
Issue: As soon as I try to load the first image in a batch, I get logged out of FamilySearch
Attempts: Tried Safari (cleared cache/cookies); still no good despite several tries
Tried iCab. Same results.
Tried Chrome. Same results.
All had the same issue. The batch does get tagged to me, but I cannot do the batch. It tries to reload the batch, but instantly says my session is old and asks if I want to stay signed in. Click yes, and I still end up at the FS logon. I do log on checking the box to “Keep me logged in” but it doesn’t make a difference if I check it or not.
I love to index, but this issue has stopped me completely. I don’t have an alternate computer that I could use easily. maybe i could sneak into a college computer lab if I knew where one was and wouldn’t get busted. =^.^= Help please!

One thing you might try is to place the iPad vertically. That does seem to work often with iPads.

Ku’ulei, isn’t that a 2019 or 2020 vintage iPad Pro? If so, then it should have plenty of resources for the Web Indexing program. I have a 2016 vintage 9.7” iPad Pro and it works great. I also have a new 12.9” iPad Pro that worked fine with Web Indexing last time I used it a couple of months ago. I’m charging it and will check it out when I have a chance. Don’t give up on your iPad. Please let me know if either of my suggestions (restarting the iPad and updating IOS) helped at all. Thanks.

What is your IOS is it up to date (which might be why it is giving problems as well)
If you are on the website version and you have cleared cookies and cache on Google Chrome on the IPAD that should help it.
How to lock the screen on an iPad?
- 1 Double tap the Home button. 2 Scroll all the way to the left on the multitasking bar at the bottom of your iPad's screen. ... 3 Tap the Lock button to lock the screen after you have it in your preferred orientation.
This is suppose to help that problem the best!
Portrait position is suppose to help this problem.

How do you delete cookies on an iPad?
- To remove all your cookies in one fell swoop, you can open Settings on your iPad and scroll down to Safari in the left hand column, as shown above. Tap on Safari and, in the middle of the screen, you should see an option to "Clear Cookies and Data.".
If these efforts don't work please let us know. The engineers are aware of the problem and are working on it, we still need feedback on this to hopefully get it fixed!
