    Problem in Husband’s tree.

In my tree I recorded what my deceased Mother-in-law gave me concerning their line. Now there’s a problem between this site here written notes and Ancestry.com. Ancestry.com shows that information given was the same that my Mother-in-law gave me so I recorded to your site. But I agree with your site there’s no way the birth date is right on this person. Now I have two different people on your site. Two different numbers. I know the burial is right.

Name Husband: Stephen Frederick Barthold Birth 1833 Death 1920 Buried at the Lutheran Cemetery Manhattan New York

Name Wife: Matilda (Federica) Meyer Birth ? On grave 1864! Death 1920 Buried at the Lutheran Cemetery Manhattan New York

I do know she was born in Wurttemberg, Hessian, Germany and he was born in Germany. There daughter Matilda Mary was born in 1863 in Switzerland and son Charles Frederick Barthold was born in 1865 in Switzerland just before they came to America. Both Stephen and his brother Albert came at the same time.

    Your site reference

    Federica Meyer

     • 94Z3-262

My entry on your site is

    Matilda Meyer

     • GH7H-VHK

what I think is going on is some how these sites got the Mother and the Daughter mixed up and I don’t know how to correct or change or research this mess any further. Even the census gives the same information. I need help to put this all together.

    Thank you

    Beth Barthold

Hi Beth, Looking at Matilda Meyer and Federica Meyer we believe you are going to fast. Backup to Charles Frederick Barthold, MBQZ-Z7H. In Charles sources is information to be added to his wife Magdalena. Attaching all available sources as you go will help steer you correctly to the right ancestors.

Then go to Stephen Frederick Barthold, GH7H-5HN. Click on FamilySearch in the "Search Records". There are available records you should review.

Once this work is completed the program will search for more information.

If you need to remove a spouse or a child following the links below.

A person in Family Tree has the wrong spouse

Do I remove the information I added first to do this?

Ancestry.com was where this mess started and I was trying to transfer that over. So this means Ancestry’s information was wrong.

You can remove information as you replace it with information you find from the records you will be attaching. Relax. Take your time. Move one step at a time, and everything will come together.

Records/sources are what you need to concentrate on right now.
