I'm indexing Pre-1907 Wisconsin Death Records 1860-1907 and found this entry "Washington E C Co" for Residence At Time of Death and for Place of Death. With a little research, I found this to be an abbreviation for "Washington "(refers to the town of Washington) "E C Co" (refers to Eau Claire County) - knowing this will save all of us lots of mistakes in both indexing and reviewing 😎😎 Have fun Mary

Great information! However we need to remember the instruction in Field Help, Death County, 1st paragraph that tells us not to expand or correct county names. "Type the name of the death county as it was written. Do not correct misspellings or expand abbreviations."

Thanks - I should have incorporated that into my Heads Up -
