How do I make my choice?
This is all new to me, so bear with me. I am selecting a "standard place" to replace the most similar "non standardized place. All I have is "Birth" and "Town". There are NO other life events to compare with listed.
How do I make my decision or do I just "skip" and let someone else handle it?
Thanks for your help, LKaiser2

LKaiser2, Thank you for these details. Now we understand what you are doing. What you are doing is a volunteer opportunity to "standardize" the places that have been added to people in the Family Tree. If you come across a place that is listed and there doesn't seem to be a good match in the list of standard places, you can just choose "Skip" and go to the next one.
By standardizing the places it helps the program do better searches for records or sources for that person.
It sounds like you are just getting started with FamilySearch because you asked if this was part of "training." If you would like a phone call so we can talk one-on-one and give you a little tour and training for using FamilySearch, I would be happy to call you. I will send you a private message where you can post information that only I will see.

LKaiser2,
I understand you are indexing and you have a question about entering the location of the birth.
Please tell us your batch number. It is listed at the end of the title of the batch and uses this format: [XXXX-XXX]. Also, tell us which entry you are on. This will help us to answer your question in a more specific and accurate way.
Thanks!

There is no batch number. When I sign in to Family Search the first thing I see is "Improve the accuracy of Family Tree - tells me what to do and then a button with "Review 10 pieces". After I do the 10, I can either "do another 10" or "done". Is this still just a part of "training". Do I just go ahead and choose a batch when I feel ready? Thanks for your time.
