Being logged out

Hi,

I am interested why I am being logged out of Family search even though I have ticked to be kept logged on for 2 weeks.

The PC is running Windows 10 it is not publicly accessible. So I am confused and sometime frustrated to come back to Family Search having logged out after say 1 hour.

Thank you for any help on this

Keep safe

When you logged in for 2 weeks, you are only temporary logged out after a certain time of inactivity to protect you and your work. You can logged in again without using your username and password by clicking on sign in and you will return to where you last worked.

When you actually click logout in the settings dropdown menu, then you have to signed in again with your username and password.

Hope this helps you to understand,

If your machine is clearing cookies then the two week login does not work correctly as cookies are used to keep track of the log in period.

There are times that the cookies aren't cleared, browser hasn't even been closed to update, that I've been logged out before the 2 week period. I've been logged out multiple times in one day. It's quite aggravating.

    'Yes', you are correct ...

This has happened, a number of times, over the past few days ...

I referenced this, in another matter, to an "Administrator", in this "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.

I, there suggested; and, still believe, that such is occurring, specifically, WHEN 'FamilySearch' is undertaking a major "Update"/"Release" (or, sometimes, for a period thereafter such); and/or, a "Programmer" in 'FamilySearch' has released a minor (ie. 'In-Line') "Update"/"Release" (or, sometimes, for a period thereafter such).

Well, such certainly 'seems' to be more prevalent, around those times.

    Just my thoughts.
