I have a Schleswig birth record (Ladelund), written in Danish script that I have mostly transcribed and translated, but there are a couple of words that are stumping me.

Is it recommended that a person join the relevant group, in this case the Nordic Group, in order to post the document there for transcription/translation help?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Yes, do join that group. That is where you will find everyone who is doing Danish and other Nordic research so posting there ensures that the right people will see your message.
