Is there a way to look at previous entries to learn the year and place for this record? Ive used the reference images to search forward but want to know more.

We can look back -5 images, and forward up to +5 images by using Reference image icon. This function doe snot allow you to see the entries of the images.

    Regarding the Marriage Year entry:

    • If only a 2-digit number was recorded, you can sometimes determine the first 2 digits of the 4-digit year from other information, such as the project dates or other contextual information on the image.
    • If you cannot determine the 4-digit year, index the 2-digit number. If you cannot determine the 2-digit or 4-digit year, press Ctrl+B to mark this field blank.
    • Project instructions on marriage banns as this batch: When indexing marriage banns or marriage intentions, the latest (usually third) date should be indexed as the marriage date.

Regarding the Marriage Parish: If you cannot see the name of the parish on previous or forward images follow the Field help regarding Marriage parish: If the locality was not recorded or was written as a variation of the word "unknown," press Ctrl+B to mark this field blank.

    Hope **** helps.

Right now the reference images are not working for shared batches. Normally we can see the previous 5 and the next 5 images.

If your batch is the first one on a film, you won't be able to see the previous 5 images. And if your batch is the last one on a film, you won't be able to see ahead to the next 5 images.

When you first open the reference images, it would be typical to have to click once to open them up and then the "+1" image will have a blue box around it.

There's a gray bar at the lower edge which you can drag to the left or the right to adjust your view.
