Do I index Virginia as the state if the name Virginia does not appear on the record
RE: Batch US, Virginia-Death Records, 1853-1900 [M37R-BF7]
The state name of Virginia does not appear on this record or similar records. If I type what I see, I think I should mark the state "blank", even though the records are all from the state of Virginia. Advice?

You are correct, if the state does not appear on the record, the field is rendered blank. You can check the examples and notice that they do not index the state on the first example, they do on the 2nd and 3rd examples because it is on the images. To open project instructions after you have closed them, you click on the last icon on the right.

We would mark it blank even if the record continues to the next image where it is signed with the City, County, and State recorded as the places of death register? And leave the city blank where it shows a township as the place of death? And can we use the year of death from the date on the header? Thank you for helping!
