Why can't I check out more than 1 batch at a time?

Some projects are set to only allow indexers or reviewers to checkout 1 batch at a time, others might be 3 batches, and so on. It helps to speed projects along by not letting people hold on to 10 batches.

@Jean Phillips_1 It is true that there are some projects that only allow for one batch at a time as Melissa stated; although, In going to this project we were able to check out and put into "My Batches" three batches and open all of them with no problem. Here is an article that may help you to understand and know what to do:
"Why won't this indexing batch open?
The error message "Batch cannot be opened," or a similar message can show for a variety of reasons.
The batch may have an technical issue.
The whole project may have a technical issue, preventing any of the batches within it to open.
Steps
If the batch is currently in your My Batches list, return the batch, and try to open another batch in the same project.
If you cannot open any batch in a project, click the Feedback link at the bottom of the page, and report the issue to Support along with the name of the project.
Click Find Batch again, and choose a different project."
Also Jean, it may also help to clear your browser of cookies and temp files if the problem continues. I hope this helps. Thank you for your efforts in indexing.

Jean, I am seeing what you are talking about now. The three I checked out were for "reviewing." I checked out one for indexing and could only check out the one. So Melissa is correct that this project is probably only set to check out for "indexing" only one batch at a time. If you have checked out more than one batch in this project for "indexing" before, and had no problem, I would suggest clicking on the Question mark with the circle in the upper right corner and then "Contact Us" and you can call or email and they can address the issue with another department if necessary. So sorry for the inconvenience and frustration for you.
