On reviewing death records I have a problem knowing if when index the parents of the deceased do I list both first and last name of the parents, or only the last name?

I don't know what project you are working on. I suggest you check the field helps. Click on "Father's Surname". There should be a purple circle with a white question mark in it. Click on that circle. On the Wisconsin death records I am working on, it says to type the Father's surname and the mother's maiden name. I have noticed that many indexers put the given and the surname even though it only asks for the last names. Have a great day!!!!😀

It only asks for the last name, so I will assume I do not need to enter the given names also.

      Thanks

Lisa answered the question by saying " it only asks for a last name." So I will not index the first name of the parents of the deceased. Only the last name, even though it seems that including a first name would be an asset to families doing research.

Buenas tardes! Por favor puede compartir el número de lote... Es importante leer las instrucciones del proyecto y mirar los ejemplos de cómo se puede indexar ese lote.

The instructions simply say to index the sir name of the mother of the deceased person. It does not say anything about if the sir name includes the given name. So I decided to delete the given names in the parent of the deceased person field, and only index the last name. The instructions do not answer that question very well, and many indexers are indexing the first and last name of the mother of the deceased person. So when I do the reviews I have to decide if I should delete the first name of the mother of the deceased, or to leave it there. That is why I asked the question. I do deceased person reviews, and I am anxious to do it correctly.

      Thanks

      Ron
