How can I be a helper to someone on line

@conniejeanolafsondiebold Yes, Church members can be helpers for other users of FamilySearch.org--with that person's permission. You must ask the other person if it's OK and that person provides you with the needed information. When you click Help Others on Family Tree, you see what information is needed. You will always need the helper number--which might or might not be part of a Church Record Number. The person you will help can find it in his or her account settings.
Here are some Help Center articles that can help you understand the Helper feature:

My problem is that I cannot see the "Help Others" link anywhere. One help page says it's under my profile in the home page. Another says it's in the same place, but in the Tree page. I cannot see it in either page.
I'm a newbie, I've uploaded a GED and fixed all the errors, bad links and missing photos, so now I'd like to get members of my family involved. But they are finding it difficult to get past the living relatives. I'd like to help them, and I can get their helper numbers, but without the "Help Others" link, there's no way I can move forward.
Any advice would be much appreciated
Thank you

@Alasdair84, the "help others" function is only available on LDS accounts. Public accounts (like mine) have helper numbers, so they can be helped, but they cannot be the helper.
