Periods after name abbreviations or initials
I don't see anything in the project instructions and it seems I saw something a while ago in the general instructions about adding a period to abbreviated names or initials. For example Wm or Wm.? A or A.? Does it matter? I can't figure out how to share the batch for the US city and business directories. I have been adding a period and now I am second guessing myself.

Hi Cheryl (and Lisa): From the Indexing Help article How Do I Review a Batch:
Note: You do not need to bother correcting the following errors. They will be corrected during an automated process prior to publication of the project.
- Punctuation
- Capitalization
- Unrequired fields marked <Blank>.
Also, Cheryl, consider joining the Indexing Chat Group for timely answers to Indexing and Review questions.

Cheryl, here is how to Share a Batch https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-share-an-indexing-batch-with-someone
I do not think you need to add periods to abbreviations. Click on the Given Name Field then click on the purple circle with the white question mark. Notice that the prefixes Mr, Mrs, and Jr do not have periods? I think it is the same for names.

Thanks, John. I had forgotten about that article. It is not quite as accessible on this new platform. It takes just a little bit more navigating.

You’re welcome Lisa. It isn’t. I knew the information, as you did, but hadn’t remembered or never knew that particular source, However, saw it quoted a few days ago and was able to find it for myself.
