I'm just new to indexing. I will spend time doing indexing then due to other responsibiiites I need to quit. Then when I start back to indexing, it doesn't take me to where I left off. How do I get back to the place I ended?

@StephenZoBell7 When you must leave a batch unfinished, click the black arrow on the far left of the toolbar. This closes the batch and assures that you can begin where you left off when you return to the batch.

Keep in mind that batches usually have seven days before they expire and are given to other indexers to complete. This is to help prevent delays in the indexing process.

I hope that this will help if you haven't closed out of the batch using this method before. I have had times when I didn't exit this way and it didn't save my place. Please let us know if this works for you. Thank you for indexing.

@StephenZoBell7 I would like to refer you to the Indexing Chat Community. It is a great resource to help you with indexing and indexing questions. I will include the link here.

That's odd. I wonder if it is just the project you are working on. My batch always goes back to where I left off. What is the title of the project you are working on, Stephen? Maybe you could share the batch. To do that you would click on the third icon from the right in the horizontal toolbar and follow the instructions.

Stephen, how big a break from indexing are we talking about? Hours or days? Batches can expire within several days and be completely unavailable - an extreme case of “losing your place.” The Ruler, which you can turn on under Data Entry>Show Ruler, should hold your place on the Image if you put it where you stop. But as Melissa said, your place on the Indexing panel (I.e. the Entry you last Indexed) should be preserved from session to session.
