I have been indexing on my iPad and it keeps throwing me out, saying the webpage is experiencing problems. When this happens, I have to re-sign in. Can someone tell me why it’s doing this, please?

Consider joining the Indexing Chat Group. I don’t have any issues actually Indexing/Reviewing with my iPad. That has not been affected for me by the move to the new Community platform.

However, I have been using (trying to use) the new system with my iPad (iPad Pro 9,7” 2016 2GB Ram). I haven’t had the issue you describe, but do experience that my iPad is continually doing screen “refreshes” which makes it difficult to use. It basically starts me at the top of the page each time.. In connection with that phenomenon I have lost several messages I was writing, requiring that I start over - they’re just gone. Also, I cannot see the bell, and envelope icons for Messages and Notifications.

In your case - which is definitely a bug as are my issues and shouldn’t be happening - try closing down all apps including Safari, and then restart your iPad. When it’s finished rebooting, bring up Safari only - no other apps- and try again. Good luck. Report back what you experience and certainly report it as a bug. I don’t have any of these issues (yours or mine) with my Windows 10 Desktop PC. They need to fix these iPad and other IOS device-related problems.

@h.lewissmy . I just tried the Chrome Browser for IOS, and it appears that many of my problems with jumpiness and frequent screen refreshes have gone away. However, I still don’t see the bell and envelope icons. The developers do need to address that issue and a couple of others. But, I have made Chrome my default browser for my iPad.

As a result of my good experience, I suggest that you try opening the Web Indexing Page using the Chrome browser instead of the default Safari browser. Maybe your problem will be helped as well.

@John Empoliti thanks for your comments. I have downloaded google chrome. It’s refreshing the page but at least I don’t have to log in all the time.

You're welcome @h.lewissmy . So, are you having that problem that you get continual page refreshes even after changing to Chrome? Are we now talking about just when you use the new Community platform, or even in the Web Indexing? For me, so far, changing to Chrome has seemed to solve the jumpiness/ continual refresh problem in the Community Platform. I would like to know if you are having that problem there. The problem is not solved if it isn't solved for everyone.

I haven't indexed on my iPad since the change, so I don't know for sure what the status is for me regarding Web Indexing and the Chrome Browser and any new glitches..

    Hi @John Empoliti

I’m talking about the web indexing. Every time i’m Zooming in to enlarge the image, it will refresh itself. Not all the time but it is annoying when it does. I have reported it to family search to see what they come up with.

It’s even doing it when going on the reference image button. It just refreshes it

I have experienced some jumpiness with the new image viewer on my PC - having it do some rogue zooming in when I didn’t ask for it. I’ve reported that. But nothing strange happened just now on my iPad when I opened one of my batches and messed around with the zoom in and out via the + and - icons or pinch-zooming on the batch and on the reference images. BTW, if you index on an iPad a lot, or exclusively, try out the full-screen browser Cloudy. It gives you a bit more screen real estate for the images and Entry areas. I don’t know how it would behave with the new Community Platform.
