How do patrons join the indexing chat?

We can take a patron to the Indexing Chat and they can see the discussions section and the members sections but they do not see the blue New Discussion link. A note on the page says they have to join to be able to ask a question, but there is no easy way for them to find out how to join.

When going to the Indexing Chat page, there will be a description of what the Indexing Chat is about and then under that box there is a blue "Join" button to push. After that you will see the little gear in the upper right corner that will give you the option to leave the group. I hoe that this answers your question.

Hello @sherylleehowe1! Indexing Chat is under Groups. Indexing is under Q&A. You must click Join on Indexing Chat to ask questions. For Q&A, you click on Ask a Question. For Indexing Chat, you click on New Discussion or the Ask A Question tabs. Hope that is helpful!

Does that gear on the top right hand corner do anything when you click it? When I click it I get "Leave Group", so I wonder if that is also Join Group?

    No it doesn't.

How do I start a new discussion? How do I ask an indexing question?

when indexing Land Deeds- sometimes on the Grantor/grantee there are two names. For example; Thomas and Rachel Smith. How do you index to first names?

Since Indexing Chat no longer exists, could a moderator delete this thread? The above question was asked again in another thread and answered. Thanks in advance to whichever moderator makes this happen!
