The records of the two Catholic parishes are available freely here https://data.matricula-online.eu/en/deutschland/osnabrueck/

The Evangelical records are on www.archion.de. a German subscription site. There, you will need a subscription to see the images. The records begin in 1860.

    Good luck!

Googling Neidersachsen comes up with Lower Saxony whose capital is Hanover. It's a large area and the FamilySearch catalog has records for many communities in the area. https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/results?count=20&placeId=38802&query=%2Bplace%3A%22Germany%2C%20Preu%C3%9Fen%2C%20Hannover%22 Here's a good place to start https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/Lower_Saxony_(Niedersachsen),_Germany_Genealogy

    note to others:

Papenburg is a city in the district of Emsland in Lower Saxony, Germany, situated at the river Ems. It is known for its large shipyard, the Meyer-Werft, which specializes in building cruise liners.

I just joined this group a few days ago and this is the first weekly email I have received. I want you to know that because you answered the above question, I was able to use that link to find my great grandfather's information that I have been searching for over 30 years. Now all I need to do is get it translated. Thank you and God bless you for sharing your talents.

My Albers family ancestors are from Papenburg. Are there any sub groups that focus on that area?
