I cannot find my father in the US Social Security Index. Why would he not be there?

He was born in 1934 and died in 2012.

    The US SSDI on FamilySearch is current through February 28, 2014. https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/1202535

    Amy, would you be willing to share the PID of your father from the FamilySearch Family Tree? I'd like to see if I can find the record of your father in the US SSDI.
