I want to terminate my ancestry.com subscription and import my family tree ged.com file into my existing Family Search tree or create a new family tree in Family Search. How do I do this?? Thank you

    Import GEDCOM that people can't change. https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-upload-my-gedcom-file

    Moving information into the public tree. https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-copy-information-from-my-gedcom-file-into-family-tree

    It sounds like you want to take advantage of the fact that FamilySearch/Family Tree is free. That's correct... it is free to all users. However, FamilySearch FamilyTree is different to many other sites that host private trees..... FamilySearch Family Tree is a COMMUNAL/SHARED tree where all users use/see the same data. It is important that you understand that it is a different model to what you were using on Ancestry. There are many benefits from working with others in a communal work space, but be aware that it is 'open edit' and changes can be made by others. Many people miss this fact. Some people choose to have a private tree somewhere like Ancestry alongside working in the shared FamilySearch Tree.
