It gives the option of "keeping me signed in for 2 weeks" yet recently I am having to sign in multiple times per day. Why is this?

David Newton said: It doesn't keep you signed in for two weeks that's why. What it actually does is to automatically sign you back in if the inactivity timeout has been triggered and has logged you out. It automatically signs you back in for a period of two weeks. That's a very important distinction and one which should be clear on the website.1

Tom Huber said: The two week sign-in only applies when the twenty-minute security timeout occurs between your computer and the FamilySearch servers. When you refresh a FamilySearch page, the system should reconnect you "behind the scenes."
Generally speaking, when your system reconnects, there is a strong risk of the system losing any information you may have entered in a text box. If you have a lot of text to enter, such as a story in memories, or a Life Sketch, do your editing in a separate application and then copy and paste the information into the FamilySearch text field.
Both Get Satisfaction (this forum) and the Family Search Communities use the same credentials, but are not part of the main site.0

Adrian Bruce said: But I'm finding that, many times, I don't get the automatic sign-back-in later in the same day as I explicitly signed-in. Whether other FS processes have disrupted the 2w counter, I'm not sure. I do know that I have to access Beta on a different browser, otherwise I end up having to explicitly log into the main site the next time I access it.0

David Hankey said: Many thanks for your replies. It is something that I have encountered before but not on such a regular basis. As there is confusion and ambiguity FamilySearch should re-phrase the wording on the signing-in page and perhaps make life a little easier for all contributors.0

I'm on Family Search a lot. I have been having this problem for the last 2 weeks or so. Not only do I have to SIGN IN again about every 1/2 hr, and I often have to REFRESH a page after I hit my back button as it locks the features on documents that are normally unlocked. This is getting a little frustrating. Is it your upgrade for the 1950 census, or did a Window's Upgrade do this to me? Not having any problems on other websites.
