Tom Huber said: The problem is intermittent, but it appears that if a place is selected, there is never any means to report an error or request a change. If a place is entered that is not in the list, then the link for the email address is presented at the bottom of the page.
In addition to the specific problem I posted about LaSalle county, this is the real problem. We need a link to report problems back to the team regardless of whether the site had just been opened, an entry has been made, or an entry has been selected.0 -
Alan Morgan said: Tom,
The best way to report an error or request a change is to find the email link at the bottom left corner below the results list after doing a search.
Providing Feedback
Please email your feedback to placefeedback@familysearch.org.
I just corrected the description for LaSalle County so it isn't described as a city, but rather a county based on the attached Wikipedia article.0 -

Tom Huber said: Thank you. If you open https://www.familysearch.org/research... without entering anything, there is no Provide Feedback. If there is a place that has been located, and clicked on, showing the location on the map, there is no place to "Provide Feedback".
Those are the two that seem to be repeatable.0 -

Gordon Collett said: I thought I had posted a detailed description of what Tom is describing. This is not an intermittent problem but is just the way the page is designed.
As he stated, when you first enter the place research tool, there is no feedback link to be seen:
It's just not included in the page design:
If you enter a place name and hit return, the results list appears and the feedback link is always at the bottom of the result list and appears to be a component of it:
When the recent "quick find" feature was added to the page, names of possible results start appearing as one types:
If you click on a name in this "quick find" drop down list, you go directly to that place. No result list is ever generated and since the feedback link is part of the result list, it never appears:
The feedback link needs to be moved from the result list and somehow be incorporated into a part of the page that is always visible.

Thank you for posting (or re-posting) screen shots to further define this problem.
Your step by step explanations really help us understand the issues that need to be resolved.
I've forwarded your explanation of this problem to our web developers.
