I want to be able to print from my laptop or tower. When I press control to print what is on the screen it shows two copies of the same page of the Relationship chart on the screen.
To get the whole report I have to select only the first page to print, print the page, move the next page to the screen and repeat the process.
In the post I read about the Apple App you mention lots of old code. I am a retired programmer and would like to know what language(s) you use in Family Tree.

It is definitely something that would be nice to have. Hopefully, the feature will find its way to a future enhancement list.0

On Windows 10 I underatand you can press the Windows key and Print Screen key together to capture the whole screen or download any number of screen capture tools to select a region.0 -
Fern Law said: I tried pressing the windows key and Print Screen key together, but nothing happened. I don't know whether I have Windows 10 or not, however. I also went to Relative Finder, but I don't see how to check my relationship to a particular person.0

Amy Archibald said: www.relativefinder.org is a great tool that uses FamilySearch to show relationships. Create a group and have the living people join the group - then it will show you them all the ways they are related to each other. Relative Finder also has a map feature - where you can see anyone else that is also logged in to Relative Finder that you are related to in your vicinity. There is also a tool for two living people to see if they are related to each other - in a quick link up that only lasts until one person logs out first.
You can also print all the View my relationships you want to any deceased person from the FamilySearch Tree.0 -

Fern Law said: I don't worry about doing it with a living relative, but just trace it to the living person's deceased parent or grandparent(s).0

Using the print screen is a joke. You would have to use a telescope to read the fine print.
Relative finder does not have a big enough data base to find the relative I requested it too. I tried 3 id numbers to locate and it could not.
If you could make the screen so I could copy and paste that would help.

Chas Howell said: a. I have used a screen capture program before. I copy the screen captured part into a word document and then expand the captured part. It is not ideal but helps in some situations. The resolution is poor. [Win7 et al- Select the Start button, enter “snipping tool” in the search box then select Snipping Tool. You can also Pin it to your task bar]
b. It would be helpful if the window the diagram is displayed in were expanded to full screen size, then more of the diagram would be visible without scrolling. Then you copy/paste more of the diagram.
c. I often send baptism/conf cards to my grand kids to do and I like to send them the little relationship diagram with the card. Helps the grand kids see the connection. Adds interest and talking points. Right now that is often too cumbersome to do with the screen capture/paste method.0 -

Tom Huber said: That function/feature is not available at this time. The best anyone can do with the chart is to capture a screen shot and print that.
If memory serves me correctly, I think that FS folks said they were working on/toward that ability, but I am not sure.
Regardless, it will be a while before something like this is released. There are a lot of projects for the site and the resources are very limited.0 -

Debra J Bentley said: It appears that people have been asking for a solution to this problem of not being able to print the relationship chart for a long time and with no really good solutions offered. It is such a wonderful chart to have! I refer to it often but to be able to save it or print it would be very useful! It's fine to do a print screen if you're only talking about a few generations.1

Tom Huber said: If the feature is going to be provided for browser-based (that is, not app based) it could be a long way down the priority list. The entire site is being redesigned to take advantage of the latest technology. We are seeing some of this over on the beta site, which may result in a whole new "look and feel" to different parts of the site. We've already seen some of this in production, particularly with the landscape view of a person's pedigree chart.0

Orisela Thomas said: I have this same request. I want the option to print the outcome of the "View my Relationship". I can't read the screen print very well as the font size is about a 4.1

Tom Huber said: The solution is in the BYU labs Relative Finder App (https://www.relativefinder.org/#/main) It is free to use and in my opinion, produces a much better chart. The chart is produced in PDF format, which you can print or share with others.
This is often requested. Since different teams developed the iOS, Android, and web applications, they do not always have the same features.0 -
Dave Korman said: What I do is to a screen capture each of the top half and bottom half (or thirds if long), then they are readable. Especially when posted on facebook since they compress imagine files that make small text hard to read.0

Tom Huber said: Relative Find is a better solution. First, it is free. Second you can produce a PDF file for printing. While I believe this would need to be converted to post to Facebook, there is no need to capture sections of the chart for printing or display purposes.0
