We don't have set up to connect people with others searching the same surname. The best option right now is probably to do a community wide search using the search box in the upper right portion of any community page to see if the name or place you are interested in has been mentioned in any previous question or post.
Thank you for introducing yourself.

Thanks for the given clarifications, Darris,i will surely use all guidance or advice.I had no intention to use the forum as a chatbox or something, if i left that impression. But given the environment,(Luxembourg/Belgium, Netherlands) and the common goals, i tought it would be interesting to know if there are other sur-Name related searchers here.It talks easy if i share my language with someone, even if proceeding in English;and they tend to live in the same geographical clusters here.
Stunning forum, btw,and polite people,a good environment to spend time.
I'm currently searching in your catalogue's of Eischen, Elvange,Redange,Diekirch, etc ,they are goldmines to me.
Thanks, take care, Adrie

@Adrien Kintziger Your introduction was just fine, not a problem or out of place at all. The ability to identify places and names being searched is good. We have not developed a good way to do it here. I'm happy that you enjoy the FamilySearch community. The more we all interact the better it will be. Thank you for participating with us.
I am also happy to learn that you are searching the Family History Library Catalogue. It is a gold mine! Be sure to try searching by keyword. In many (maybe most) cases you will find more by doing a keyword search than a place search. This is partly due to the extra information included in the catalogue descriptions.

Yes, well , basically i treid the function several times for the past week, to a good result really; It also showed me that it is mandatory to keep a list of older placename, like say for example yesterday i tried to enter "Eischen" with today's spelling , and it showed op with results, but after
refing the keywords with 'EIJ'schen, and hitting that prompt with placenames no longer in existence i found out that the presented catalogues expanded and also reflected -indexed/non indexed as a gift on top of the cake!! neat!this is all toplevel ...and so many things availiable as pdf material, printable!
Top , top , top!
I apologyse for my bad syntaxis, English American is not native to me,its a bit of me tarzan you jane. But it will do i guess.
Thx , Adrie
