Help with death record
Hi,
I have a death record for Therese Tanghe, died 16 Mar 1808 in Meulebeke. Her parents are Jean and Marie Croubels (I think the record says they are dead) and her husband is Jean Tack. The record is in French and I'm not sure who Ignasus Francois Tack and Jean Goethals are. I can make out the dates and ages but all other information on the record is a mystery. If there is anyone who can shed some light on this record I would be very grateful. The link is: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HT-69B9-55S?i=429&wc=QZ9J-14C:1009428601,1009437201&cc=2139860
Thank You,
Laurie

Jean Goethals is the "Marechal," - the police officer.

Ignasus Francois Tack is a 34 year old "tisserand" in Meulebeke. I.e. weaver.
He and Jean Goethals are making the declaration that Therese Tanghe died at 5 a.m. that morning. Her spouse Jean Tanghe is a 'filleure,' and he was born at Oostrozebeke, now residing in Meulebeke.
At the end it tells us that first "comparant" is the son of the deceased and is illiterate, therefore did not sign.
hope this helps

The format of early death records in the Etat Civil follow this format:
- Date and time of the declaration
- Authority recording the declaration (officers of Vital Record)
- Persons declaring the event (usually 2)
- Declaration
- Name of deceased
- Age
- Parents
- Spouse
- Birth and residence town
- Date of death
- Signatures (including sometimes relationship between person signing and deceased)
So the people in this act are:
- Ignace François TACK, 34, weaver in Meulebeke (son of the deceased, cannot write)
- Jean GOETHALS, 40, merchant in Meulebeke (witness, signed)
- Thérèse TANGHE, 71, filleuse (related to textile industry), born in Westrozebeke(?), residing in Meulebeke, died at 5am on 16 MAR 1808 (=> born 1736-37)
- Jean TANGHE, father, deceased
- Marie CROUBELS, mother, deceased
- PJ MAERTENS, mayor of Meulebeke and officer of the Etat Civil
