There is too much conflicting information by multiple people contributing to this family. And this person may not even be related to me, but some how this family has been linked to Olava Hansdatter in my tree, and I don't think they got the right record. As my Olava is from Tynes. Not Ramstad.

There is some confusion. I have her listed as female. Yet the source in FS says Male.

3 - Please translate this baptism record for Syvert Elias Martines, 4th entry, looking for parents names, birth/christening/baptism date, and farm name. Verifying if this is the correct birth record for the father of Hansine Online Sivertsdatter LCXK-RSM

I'm interested in all information, to help me continue my search. Syvert Elias Martines (?) parents? birth and baptism date? Any other pertinent information? like farm names etc. I'm trying to decide if I found a birth record for Sivert Jensen born in Strømmegjerde near Sykkylven, Møre og Romsdal, Norway. The birth record that someone has added to my file has him born in Eidsvaag, yet his daughter Hansine's birth and confirmation records say he's from Strømmegjerde. I need help cleaning up this record and finding the correct parents.

While I'm no expert and my area of research in Denmark, looking at Olava's change log, she was merged in November 2019 with another Olava who was born in 1799--which looks suspicious...

 

If you want your previous questions to be noticed (I suspect they just got lost in the Christmas shuffle), I'd copy and paste the content into a new question--so that they're more easily found by those who would know...

Thanks. I'll try that out. I just need a translation of the entry, the older entries are written differently than the ones I'm used to reading, so I don't know what it all says. I'm pretty sure it got lost in the Christmas shuffle. :-) Yes, I noticed that the birthdate of the deleted person is 1799, but that person has no sources. Perhaps I'll message the person who merged them, and ask them if they have any information on the person they merged.

LOL I just found a different person, in a different family that I'm researching, that the official death record lists him with the hand-written name Peter Joakim Olaus Brithanusen, and the transcribed searchable record on the same digital archive with the same handwritten official record, yet the transcription lists him as a female with the name Peder Joakim Olaus Brithanusdatter. It's funny, because the transcribed record uses the official document that I have as a source, with the name clearly written Brithanusen. LOL So no one is perfect.

RE Question 2:

Never, never, never trust indexes. Ever. There is no need to debate whether the original record is correct or if the indexed version is. The original always wins. The name in the original and the index is clearly Johanne which is always female.

 

(I have found the transcriptions at the Digitalarkivet to be of very high quality as long as the person or organization transcribing them are in Norway. Recently I'm running across transcriptions there that have been done by "Ancestry, My Heritage, FamilySearch" which have a lot more errors.)

Thank you, Gordon. There is another child who's death record in the Norwegian Digital Archives Transcribed record, puts his last name as Brithanusdatter, and has him listed as female. I followed their source information, and it clearly states in the handwritten official document, Brithanussen, as well as the Copy document lists him as drengbarn(Boy Child). So I contact the Norwegian Digital Archives, with the additional information from the copy record, and suggested an edit on the transcribed record to Brithanusen, and Male. Thanks again for helping me with the questions from December, that got overlooked. Too much Christmas stuff. :-) When I first asked the questions in December, my questions and descriptions were not clear, so people may have just skipped over it. I really appreciate your taking time from your own person research to help me with my many question. Thanks so much for all you do.
