    Have you checked out find a grave? You might find a grave photo there. I would also try to get in contact with other living descendants.

    All of us looking for the genalogical "needle in the haystack" will look wherever possible for finding it - - but in a case like this the probabilities of finding a photo of a close relative will be much greater simlpy looking among the extended living family (some of which you may not even know yet)

    working with the family you do know you may be able to contact the extended family you dont know yet and see what has been passed down in the family.
