Records for Alingsäs and Uddevalla
Now that I know that Anders Carlsson is the father of Anna Catharina Carlgren: Household Exam Sweden,Gävleborg Alfta 1851-1855 A page 69, trying ot go back. He was born Dec 14 1814 in Alingsäs. Alfta 1856-1860 A says he left the Alfta Parish on November 12 1860 for Uddevalla. Various sources lead me to Älvsborg or Göteborg. I use Ancestry and when I go to those counties and look for Alingsäs or Uddevalla the records for that period are not there. For example, Älvsborg, Alingsäs Parish only lists births for 1942 and 1943. and in Göteborg, Uddevalla he does not appear in the moving in records for 1860 and there are none listed after 1860. Also, the 1860 moving in records look very different that what I have used in years in other parishes. So help me find where to look for his birth record and what happened to him after he left the Alfta Parish. Thanks.

Hello #[Dale Anderson_6] ,
I don't know why Ancestry has not published the rest of the parish records for Alingsås. You can search them on the Swedish National Archives (Riksarkivet) website see https://sok.riksarkivet.se/?postid=Arkis+{0e3ad38d-77a4-11d5-a6f2-0002440207bb}&s=Balder.
They are also available through the FamilySearch Catalog at https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/results?count=20&placeId=146612&query=%2Bplace%3A%22Sweden%2C%20%C3%84lvsborg%2C%20Alings%C3%A5s%22&subjectsOpen=582424-50.
Keep in mind that there is a Alingsås city parish (Stadsförsamling) and a rural parish around the city (Landsförsamling). You need to check both because they did not specify which one in Alfta.
The moving-in records of Uddevalla after 1860 are also available through Riksarkivet at https://sok.riksarkivet.se/bildvisning/A0019511_00001#?c=&m=&s=&cv=&xywh=-443%2C-138%2C4391%2C2755.
Also, here is a link to a class handout to use the Riksarkivet website in case it is not familiar to you see https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/img_auth.php/7/7d/How_to_Use_the_Swedish_National_Archives_Riksarkivet_Website_G_Morris_Oct_2020_JMR.pdf.
