Good question ...
.
Generally, technically, just through the NORMAL 'view' of "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch', without certain (for want of a better word) 'permissions'; as, you are, BOTH, "Living", you cannot.
.
But ...
That said ...
.
There ARE a couple of options ...
.
Whereby you are, basically, giving "Permission" ...
.
(1) In/With, "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' ...
.
Enable Relationship Viewing
.
BOTH, you and the other User/Patron, both of you together, can "Enable" the "Relationship Viewing" feature/facility/function in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
.
Here is a "Knowledge Article" in 'FamilySearch':
.
How do I turn on or off the option to view my relationship to other users?
.
Pictorially ...
.
There are two ways that I know of:
.
One is through your "Settings", under the "Contact" 'Tab', in "FamilySearch".
.
.
.
The other is when you select the "Contact Name" of a User/Patron who has contributed details to a record.
.
.
.
Remember: You BOTH have to "Enable" the "Relationship Viewing" feature/facility/function in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' for that to work.
.
And ...
.
(2) Externally to, "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' ...
.
(BYU) "RelativeFinder" ...
.
Can I humbly suggest that ANOTHER place where you SHOULD be able to 'See' your "Relationship" with individuals/persons, both, "Living" Users/Patrons; and the "Deceased", in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'; PLUS, you can ALSO "Print" the connections/links between you and them is, ... and, if you have not already ... you could try (BYU) "RelativeFinder" ...
.
(BYU) "RelativeFinder" digs (pun intended) a lot DEEPER in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch', than 'FamilySearch' does.
.
(BYU) "RelativeFinder" is one of the "Third Party" Applications that "Certified" to work with "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
.
BYU = Brigham Young University, in Provo, Utah, USA (ie. the Church University).
.
From the "Family History Technology Laboratory", of the "Computer Science" Department.
.
Here is direct link to "RelativeFibder"
https://www.relativefinder.org/#/main
.
.
"RelativeFinder" has many 'Bells and Whistles', that you might find useful.
.
Apart from your links/connections to, "Famous People"; and, "Others" ...
.
(BYU) "RelativeFinder" has some interesting options ...
.
There is an option to see if there is a 'Connection' between yourself and a "Deceased" individual/person in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
.
.
There is an option to see if there is a 'Connection' between two (x2) "Deceased" individuals/person in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'
.
.
There is an option to see if there is a 'Connection' between ("Living" - Users/Patrons) Friends in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
.
.
Give them a go ...
.
And, there are many other 'Bells and Whistles' that you might find useful in "RelativeFinder".
.
Magic.
Enjoy.
.
Now ...
After all that ...
.
I hope this helps.

Hi Laura and Welcome!
Are you asking them a question about an entry on your FamilyTree, or are you asking a question about indexing, or is it a question that involves your church? If you are using the FamilySearch messaging system, they should be able to respond to you just like in an email message.

The messaging system by itself allows a person to get back with you - Just like Email does - they can reply to your message.
but if a person doesnt return your message - dont assume they are just ignoring you
it may be they never read your message - -
There are various scenarios whereby they may not get your messsage
1) They may be dead
2) They may not be using their FS account any more
3) Their email address m,ay have changed
etc.
