Need guidance on the Danish records described below about duplicate fathers in parish records.

What to do when a baptism record has my ancestor's name crossed out, with another father's name written above his name, but the death record of the baptized child shows the father as my ancestor. Film 007212833, image 205, baptism 12

December 1779. Death is same film and image 243. My ancestor is Anders Pedersen and child is Bodil. The mother is Anna Knudsdatter.

Thank you!!

Kathy

The 1780 death record for child of Anders Pedersen of Stendrup was 19 weeks old. https://www.sa.dk/ao-soegesider/da/billedviser?epid=17121448#159721,26855161 This is likely Bodel. The first child by that name and then a second named Bodel after this death.

Children should be sealed to a married couple. I would seal this child to Anders. If you wanted you could show Anders as a step-father and do your best to decide on a name for the biological father (difficult to read on record). The child dies young so your decision does not affect any descendants.

Do you have the marriage record for Anna? This is a 1779 betrothal and 1780 marriage possibility. https://www.sa.dk/ao-soegesider/da/billedviser?epid=17121448#159721,26855178

I'm studying the name written above the marked out name. Did you have this census for the family?  Anders would have been just 18 at the birth of Bodel. The father's name could be Jep or Jens?

Thank you. Do you have a suggestion as far as temple work since the father at the baptism was shown as a father that was not Anders Pedersen, but Anders was the father at the burial? Anders married very soon after the baptism so maybe better to seal the child to him?

Thank you Shari. I appreciate the census. I don't have the marriage record with me, but will get it.

    Thanks again!

Sorry to keep adding to your workload! I found the engagement/marriage record of Anders and Anna, it's image 261 on the Ansager, Ribe church records.

Late 1779 and January 1780. Thanks for all your good help!
