Need help in learning how to find Probate records. It seems when I find a probate record it is more by chance than by finding what I am looking for. Attached is a specific example of a record I can find the proper film to review,

but have no clue where specifically to look on the film.

Finding probates in Denmark is tricky so I taught a whole class on it. https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/lessons/denmark-probate-records

Sometimes it is more difficult than others. Yesterday I quickly found a probate and totally amazed myself! My steps: 1) FamilySearch catalog for the parish 2) look for probate records 3) There were six possible record sets, one didn't fit the time frame. 4) I knew the small village (death location) and date so that was key to my success. I looked for the village and only one of the record sets gave that location. 4)Find the camera icon and select the film you are going to look at 5) I looked for an index in the book (sometimes front, sometimes back) and my individual was listed with the page number. The probate was found easily in 5 minutes but this isn't always the case for me.

Tanner's class and handout are an excellent resource.

You asked about where to look on the film. See if there is an index. If no index, then try looking for entries in the year of the death or sometime thereafter.

When I went to Voer parish in the catalog, there were three possibilities. I started with the first (already know it's the right one because of the FS index card) and found the village of Vorgaard. Scroll down the page to view the next choice that fits the time period. (camera icon) Now you can browse by the year of 1745 or look for an index. The index card says page 401b. Here's a link to the original index found at the back of the book. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QS7-89W8-3QRH?i=603&cc=2015318&cat=427534 Poul is listed under Ruus, Poul Pedersen. Here is page 401 b original entry for Poul. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QS7-89W8-372H?i=406&cc=2015318&cat=427534
