I accidently just detached a source from someone that I did not mean to detach :( is there a way to get it back, other than searching for it again on family search or one of the affiliated websites?

Look at the Change Log. If the source was indexed within FamilySearch, you should be able to reattach it by finding it in the Change Log for that person.
