Pension Index

How can I find out more information from this pension index? Also does anyone know what the service listed is on this record? I really don't have any other information on James Johnson so anything would be helpful

The citation for this record shows that it is in the National Archives (NARA): Citation

"United States General Index to Pension Files, 1861-1934," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33SQ-GTB2-TVB?cc=1919699&wc=9FF5-6TL%3A213355101 : 22 May 2014), Johnson, James - Johnson, Ogden > image 522 of 4131; citing NARA microfilm publication T288 (Washington, D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, n.d.).

Here is a link to the NARA website for information and ordering of Pension records: https://www.archives.gov/research/order/order-vets-records.html

I think the service is the 3rd Illinois Calvary Company E.

    Maybe that will help!
